I. Basic Purpose of the Job

Collaborate with department managers to determine training needs of the company and develop training modules that align training specifics with company goals. Coordinate and lead training sessions for employees and track class certifications. Monitor and record employee attendance and participation. Responsible for the oversight of training coordinators.

II. Reporting Relationship

The position reports to the Sr. Section Head, Training & ER.

III. Major Duties and Responsibilities

1. Determine training and certification needs of the site. Monitor, track and report results to company.

2. Develop training materials and modules

3. Facilitate employee training modules and record results

4. Work closely with external training vendors and ensure material is in compliance with company goals and statutory requirements

5. Communicate with managers and set short term training goals for company employees

6. Responsible for the maintenance of various databases that house training and certificate program information

7. Calculate and monitor training expenses for budgeting purposes

8. Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

9. Employee is required to conduct business with the highest legal and ethical standards

10. Demonstrate decision-making skills that ensure the safety of all persons associated with ON Semiconductor facilities

11. Other duties as assigned


IV. Job Specifications


Minimum: Bachelor's Degree Social Science or Related Field

Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Master's Degree in Social Science or Related Field.


3-5 Years of experience in a related field or position


  • Knowledge of adult learning and training best practices
  • Capable of designing and delivering training modules
  • Ability to use basic statistical and quality tools in data management
  • Ability to assess client training needs and create, develop and implement training plans
  • Strong management and leadership skills
  • Ability to coordinate, schedule and present training session materials
  • Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively
  • Knowledge of organizational development and culture
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of or ability to learn multiple software applications
