REPORTS TO: Communications and Media Manager


A. Internal: ManCom, Project Managers, consultants, and other departments and units

B. External: Media (traditional, non-traditional and digital), Ambassadors and Influencers, Partner Institutions, suppliers and service providers

  • General:
    • Perform the tasks of an excellent media planner, making sure that all WWF programs and relevant news are given the proper media mileage through the proper channels.
    • Perform the tasks of an excellent events planner, making sure that all WWF-related events are implemented and executed according to strategy.
    • Cultivates strong relationships, and develops proactive strategies to achieve positive media coverage from traditional, non-traditional and online media to ensure that the messaging of WWF is effectively delivered.
    • Monitor all relevant media channels for news on WWF and other relevant information that may have positive or negative implications to WWF and the work it does.
    • Create and maintain network in both traditional and non-traditional media as well as maintain own media assets of KKPFI (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.)
    • Recommend events and media plans with management and agencies to ensure highest potential of target market reach.
    • Upholds and protects the intellectual property rights and brand guidelines of WWF across all licensing, communications, merchandising effort
    • Maintain an archive of all communication materials
  • Conservation Projects Communications:
    • Support project teams in developing events to highlight importance and relevance of conservation projects and identify relevant media in communicating these.
    • Serve as media/events resource person in program and project activities.
    • Develop communications materials for Corporate Partnerships and Individual Donor Program Units (e.g. letters, updates, FAQ’s etc.)
  • Marketing Communications:
    • Develop communications materials for Corporate Partnerships and Individual Donor Program Units (e.g. letters, updates, FAQ’s etc.)
    • Negotiate and coordinate media buys with agencies and establish relationships with media contacts for complimentary airtime, ad space, OOH, etc.
  • Events and Special Projects:
    • Manage annual and other special projects (e.g. Earth Hour, Partners Night, Journey of Food, etc.)
    • Develop and nurture WWF Ambassadors, Advocates, Influencers
    • Responsible for choosing appropriate WWF resource persons for events wherein WWF is invited to speak or participate
    • Participates in official activities of WWF when required by supervisor
    • When needed, can ideally be sent to non-WWF implemented events to do simple social media/article coverage work. Will not write the articles but ideally can gather all necessary information for writers to be able to write articles.
  • Other duties that may be assigned.
  • Strong advocacy for the environment and willing to learn about WWF and conservation projects
  • College graduate with a degree in Communications or other relevant degree
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in communications work
  • Creative thinker and go-getter with a can-do attitude
  • Excellent communication, organizational and people skills
  • Solid understanding of the media landscape and can easily identify emerging trends
  • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines
  • Team player
